The 10: Best players not at the World Cup !!

10. Christian Eriksen, Denmark
The Spurs schemer sadly won't be at the World Cup after Denmark failed to qualify having finishing second behind Italy in Group B. They miss out on the play-offs

9. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Armenia

Henrikh Mkhitaryan never stood much chance of making it to Brazil but the tournament will be a weaker place without the Borussia Dortmund playmaker

8. Stevan Jovetic, Montenegro

Montenegro did well to stay in the qualification race as long as they could, but with Jovetic not quite at his best , they fell just short.

7. Mohammed Salah, Egypt

Egypt are pretty much out of the running after their 6-1 defeat against Ghana in the first leg of their play-off.

6. Arda Turan, Turkey

Turan has emerged as a real star of the Atletico Madrid team that is challenging to break the Real Madrid and Barcelona duopoly in La Liga.

5. Tomas Rosicky, Czech Republic

Tomas Rosicky can be a frustrating player but there's no doubt he has the ability to show his best stuff on the international stage.

4. Branislav Ivanovic, Serbia

Serbia have a solid team but always faced an uphill task to make it out of a group containing Belgium and Croatia.

3. Robert Lewadowski, Poland

After leading the line for his country on home soil at Euro 2012, Lewandoski would have been hopeful that he could do exactly the same in Brazil next summer when Poland were drawn in a tricky, but not impossible, group.

2. Gareth Bale, Wales

Wales were never in with a chance of qualifying and if they don't improve drastically, then Bale won't ever get to pit his wits on the biggest stage of them all.

1. Petr Cech, Czech Republic

The Chelsea shotstopper didn't have best of times at Euro 2012, and he would have hoped for the chance to make amends in Brazil.

Sadly one of the world's best goalkeepers won't be there to strut his stuff on a stage befitting of his talent
