Job opportunity at Geita Gold Mine: General Investigator

Geita Gold Mine (GGM) is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of North Western Tanzania. It is located within Geita Region, about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s South East of the nearest point of Lake Victoria and 5 Km’s west of Geita town. The Mine is owned and managed by Anglo Gold Ashanti Limited.

POSITION: General Investigator

WORKS FOR: Compliance and Assurance Superintendent

QUALIFICATION: Form six and above

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To apply the strategic framework for the security operations and help to integrate the objectives of security with other functions and service areas, ensuring that long-term objectives are clarified and resourced within the context of achieving company goals.

DUTIES / ACOUNTABILITIES:                    

1. Support the GGM security function in deploying initiatives and strategies relating to information gathering, analysis and investigations.
   
   
2. Recording and reporting of security events to the Compliance and Assurance Superintendent in a timely and accurate manner to assist him in developing a strategy to counter/mitigate risks.
   
   
3. Develop and maintain existing compliance and assurance standards and risks.
   
   
4. Develop an informer network inside and outside GGM boundaries to assist GGM security to act proactively in preventing losses and effect arrests.
   
   
5. Report any information obtained from informants in order for him to develop strategies to counter/mitigate the risks.
   
   
6. Coach and train informers as to their role, functions and behavior as per prescribed informer handling guidelines.
   
   
7. Develop and build a relationship with the Finance department to assist in financial investigations.
   
   

EXPERIENCE:  

Candidate should have at least 5 years working experience in an economic crime or serious fraud environment. Having a corruption Investigation capacity will be an added advantage.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

                    1. Be conversant with all investigation principles and techniques

                    2. Be computer literate

                    3. Be holder of valid driving licence

                    4. Be physically fit and hard working
