5. Wesley Sneijder | Galatasaray
When discussing the best playmakers in the world, for some reason Wesley Sneijder's name is still often mentioned, despite the fact it's been three years since that standout season in 2010.
Since then he's been pretty average, for both Inter Milan and Galatasaray.
His goalscoring record has never been amazing since he left Ajax, either. With Real Madrid he scored 11 goals in 66 matches, before bagging 22 in 116 games for Inter.
No longer a world-class footballer, despite what some might say.
4. Robinho | AC Milan
The boy from Brazil who was once dubbed the 'new Pele' never fulfilled his immense potential.
The fact that he can no longer get into the Brazil squad speaks volumes for the 29-year-old who should have been at the peak of his powers by now.
3. Kaka | AC Milan
In 2007 he deservedly won the Ballon d'Or after a wonderful campaign with AC Milan, but once his acceleration went, so too did Kaka the world-class footballer.
Some still consider him one of the best footballers in the world – although the fact Real Madrid offloaded him on a free transfer, despite buying him for over £50m four years earlier, tells you all you need to know about how far his stock has fallen.
2. Yoann Gourcuff | Lyon
Once regarded as Zinedine Zidane's successor, Yoann Gourcuff has flattered to deceive since his days with Rennes, which ended in 2006 when he joined AC Milan.
He flopped at Milan, spent some time at Bordeaux and is now at Lyon. At all three clubs he failed to burst into life.
1. Bojan Krkic | Ajax
he has really struggled at the top level as a senior, which is no real surprise given his slight frame.
His old teammate Lionel Messi is similar in height, but different in his physique. Bojan is far easier to knock off the ball and has lost a lot of confidence in recent years as a result.
Some still see him as the same Bojan who burst onto the scene at the Camp Nou in 2007 – and tip him to enjoy a triumphant return at Barcelona one day - but that player is long gone.
