President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margret Kenyatta are today, Monday, expected to make a three-day official visit to Kigali, Rwanda.
During the visit, the President will attend the 3rd Tripartite Infrastructure Summit which brings together Heads of State of Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and the host Rwanda.
The summit is intended to fast-track regional development through infrastructure, trade and economic integration.
The summit is a follow-up to the Mombasa meeting in August where the leaders commissioned Berth 19 to increase capacity of the Kenyan port to serve the entire region.
On Tuesday, the Head of State will join 12 other Africa Heads of State for the Transform Africa Summit, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
This summit aims at pooling resources and setting a new agenda for Africa to address development challenges through the use and uptake of ICT and related services.
Other African leaders expected to attend the Transform Africa Summit are Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn of Ethiopia, Presidents Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania, Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita of Mali, Salva Kiir of South Sudan, Macky Sall of Senegal, Ali Bongo Ondimba of Gabon, Pierre Nkurunziza of Burundi, Denis Sassou Nguesso of the republic of Congo, Blaise Compaore of Burkina Faso and host President Paul Kagame.

President Uhuru Kenyatta arrives in Rwanda for regional meeting

NAIROBI, KENYA: President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta arrived in Kigali, Rwanda Monday morning for a three-day official visit.
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, the President and the First Lady were received by senior Rwandan Government officials led by Justice Minister John Busingye and Kenyan High Commissioner John Mwangemi.
Thereafter, the President inspected a guard of honour mounted by a detachment of the Rwandan Defence Forces.
Later, President Kenyatta was formerly received by his host President Paul Kagame at Urugwiru State office, the venue of the 3rd Tripartite Infrastructure Summit.
Other Heads of State attending the summit are Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, Salva Kiir of South Sudan and the host President Kagame.
Tomorrow, President Kenyatta will lead the Kenyan delegation at the Transform Africa ICT Summit, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
