Juventus striker Carlos Tevez and his family have been received by Argentine Pope Francis in the Vatican.
The
pair both come from Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, and were
there to discuss several issues, including the difficulties faced in the
area they were brought up in.
Speaking
on Twitter, Tevez said: 'Thank you Holy Father for welcoming my family.
I’m proud that you’re Argentine, and above all that you’re so humble.'

Tevez is not the only footballer to have met Pope Francis since he became head of the Catholic church.
Lionel Messi was present when the Pope met several footballers, including Gianluigi Buffon, and Mario Balotelli was invited to the Vatican along with the Italian national team in August.
Argentine tennis player Juan Martin del Potro recently admitted to being devastated when he was robbed in Paris of a prize rosary given to him and blessed by Pope Francis.
