A couple who scooped a £101m lottery win have split up because of the enormous strain of handling their vast fortune.
Dave
and Angela Dawes, originally from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, have
reportedly split after two years of marriage because of rows over how to
spread the EuroMillions cash between their family and friends.
The
couple, who bought their winning ticket from a WHSmith store and got
married in Gretna Green following the windfall in December 2011, went
from living in a one bedroom flat to a £9m mansion in Surrey, as well as
a flat in West London's Chelsea Harbour, so Mr Dawes, 49, can walk to
the ground of his beloved Chelsea FC.

Happier times: Dave and Angela Dawes celebrate
their 2011 EuroMillions win. Now there are reports the pressures of the
fortune has caused them to split
When they won, the couple announced they wanted to give a large portion of the cash to friends and family
He is thought to be living either in his Chelsea flat or at his mother's house in East Sussex.
Former taxi driver Angela, 46, is the only person listed on the electoral role at the couple's former nest.

Speaking at the time of their win, Mr Dawes revealed he wanted to make some of their friends millionaires too.
He said: 'We've drawn up a list of about 15 to 20 people that we're going to sort of make millionaires.
'Anyone that's helped us through our life.'
But the pressure of deciding how to distribute the cash caused an enormous strain on their marriage, reports a family source.
They said: 'What I have been told is that they went their separate ways.
'They have definitely broken up.
'It
is to do with the money. They have been rowing about how to spend it.
Money is the root of all evil - too much money and not enough ways to
spend it.
'Some people love money and some people hate it.'
Humble: Dave and Angela Dawes used to share a one-bedroom £70 per week flat in this block in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
The win made them the 702nd
richest couple in the UK and was the fourth biggest lottery payout in
Britain - a far cry from the tiny flat they used to share and the static
caravan Mrs Dawes once lived in.
They
splashed out on luxury London hotel rooms, designer clothes, a
Rolls-Royce, holidays to Portugal and season tickets for Chelsea.
The
family source added: 'They gave money to Dave's mother, his two sisters
and even his friend to set up a burger van but they never gave me
anything.
'I am struggling. He can give me money if he wants to. I have not sent a begging letter.'
But the couple are believed to have split over the summer. The family source does not know if or when they will divorce.
A source said: 'They soon realised that winning the lottery wasn't all champagne and parties'

The news of their rift comes just days
after another Euromillions-winning couple, Adrian and Gillian Bayford,
announced they are to divorce because of the ‘stress’ of becoming
overnight multi-millionaires.
Friends
also say that while Mrs Bayford revelled in the luxury lifestyle
afforded by their EuroMillions win, Mr Bayford, 43, struggled to enjoy
the high life and had not settled in at the couple’s country estate.
Just
15 months after they scooped the second biggest ever lottery prize, he
has left the £6million Georgian mansion where his wife still lives.
He has moved into a more modest £500,000, four-bedroom home in Haverhill, Suffolk – the area where the couple originally lived.
Mr Bayford told the Mail: ‘Gillian and I have split.’
He
said the stress of managing their fortune meant they had not spent time
together – and their Grade-II Cambridgeshire pile became a chore to
maintain.
‘When you win the lottery it’s so stressful,’ he said.
