They've both seen themselves distanced from the Kardashian clan due to the events of recent months.
But
Bruce Jenner and Lamar Odom are said to have found solace in each other
in the wake of their turbulent family issues, and have been spending 'a
lot of time together' at the 64-year-old former Olympic champion's home
in Malibu, California.
Bruce
announced his split from Kris Jenner, his wife of 23 years, last month,
while Lamar's marriage to the sportsman's step-daughter, Khloe
Kardashian, has been very much on the rocks since his issues with
alcohol and drugs came to light.
A positive influence: Bruce Jenner and Lamar
Odom are said to have found solace in each other in recent weeks, and
have been spending 'a lot of time together' at the 64-year-old former
Olympic champion's home
The pair are said to have
spent 'hours' in each other's company, with Bruce offering the NBA star
'life advice' as he attempts to overcome his demons.
A source told 'Lamar has been spending a lot of time with Bruce at his new home in Malibu.
'They spend hours together
during which Bruce counsels Lamar on various life issues, including how
to stay clean and whose company he should and shouldn't be keeping.'
According
to the former decathlete's confidantes, Lamar, 34, is now clean and
free of alcohol and drugs, and has been 'working out constantly' in the
hope of making a triumphant return to the NBA.
Making a difference: Bruce, pictured on Monday
night, is said to have been offering the NBA star 'life advice' as he
attempts to overcome his demons.
The source added:
'Bruce feels he's a positive influence on Lamar and can make a huge
difference in his life. Bruce has told friends he loves Lamar and thinks
he's a good soul.
'It
doesn't matter that Khloe is pulling the plug on her marriage... he will
stay close to Lamar because he genuinely cares for him.'
Bruce
is said to have added to one friend that Lamar is simply learning how
to deal with the difficulties that have arisen in his life of late.
Moving on: Lamar, 34, is now said to be clean
and free of alcohol and drugs, and has been 'working out constantly' in
the hope of making a triumphant return to the NBA
The latest claims come as Khloe, 29,
broke down in tears on the season finale of Keeping Up With The
Kardashians, admitting she was ready to walk away from the couple's
troubled marriage once and for all.
She
explained: 'A lot has been going on the past couple of years just with
me and Lamar. I have made that choice myself to keep that within my
marriage, but lately it has been getting bigger than me.
'It
is scary, there is a lot going on, there are paparazzi, like hundreds
of them that wait outside my gates. It is not easy. Sometimes things are
bigger than yourself and I don't have a plan, I don't know what the
next step is.
Ex marks the spot: Bruce announced his split
from Kris (L) last month, while Lamar's marriage to Bruce's
step-daughter, Khloe Kardashian (R), has been very much on the rocks
since his issues came to light
'Lamar
is my husband, I fell in love with him instantly and got married to him
in 30 days ...Obviously, I would like to help him and let him live his
life but I don't know what else to do.
'I am at war with myself, I want to help him but maybe sometimes the best help is stepping away.'
Lamar is said to have moved out of the couple's $4million marital home last week amid rumours of infidelity and drug taking.
Meanwhile,
Bruce has been living in a Malibu beach house since news of his split
from Kardashian family matriarch Kris came to light, in spite of the
couple privately calling time on their two-decade marriage a year
earlier.
In happier times: Bruce and Lamar have been a key part of the Kardashian family for years
